Doris F. (Dorie) Marhoefer, 56, of Saegertown, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at UPMC Hamot, Erie. Born Oct. 22, 1955, in Meadville, she was the daughter of Richard G. Shiner and Jean Bortner Shiner. She married Clarence J. Marhoefer Sr. on Aug. 29, 1980; he survives. She enjoyed playing bingo and using her computer. She also loved animals. She belonged to the Saegertown American Legion and Voices for Independence, Erie. She is survived by her husband, Clarence; a daughter, Amanda M. Marhoefer of Harmonsburg; a son, Clarence J. Marhoefer Jr. of Saegertown; two stepchildren, Elona Marhoefer of Saegertown and Shaunnah Lee Longstreth of Saegertown; six grandchildren, Samantha Free, Austin Andrews, Lexi Longstreth, Dakota Longstreth, Tyler Marhoefer and Ammie Jo Klingensmith; a sister, Sandra L. (Kevin) Wright of Meadville; and a brother, Richard G. (Shirley) Shiner Jr. of Conneaut Lake. Other survivors include her mother-in-law, Frances Marhoefer of Saegertown; Barbara Gifford and Robert Hunter of Saegertown; and Mark Decker of Harmonsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Donna Rash and Margaret (Peg) Young. Calling hours are Tuesday from noon until the time of the service at 4 p.m. at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home and Crematory, Baldwin St., Meadville. Interment will be in Anderson Cemetery.
