Shirley M. Shiner

CONNEAUT LAKE — Shirley M. Shiner, 60, of 14763 State Route 285, Conneaut Lake (Greenwood Township), passed away unexpectedly at 11:13 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012, in the Emergency Room of Meadville Medical Center after having been stricken with an apparent heart attack.

Shirley was born in Greenville on June 16, 1951, a daughter of the late Harry D. and Anna E. (Young) Kratochvil.

On Oct. 23, 1967, she married Adelbert R. Clevenger Sr., who preceded her in death in 1973. On Oct. 1, 1984, she married Richard G. Shiner, who survives.

She was currently employed at J&M Manufacturing Co., Greenwood Township, as a grinder and also having worked in the maintenance department. She was a member of the Greenville Elks Club. She enjoyed her computer and could often be found participating in Farmville and Café World games. She enjoyed her family and especially cherished the moments she shared with her children and grandchildren. Shirley was also an active participant in the local Red Cross blood drives.

In addition to her husband of 27 years, she is survived by a son, Adelbert (Clem) Clevenger Jr. and wife Robin of Clarks Mills; a daughter, Jean Myers and husband Joe of Meadville; three sisters, Harriet Carroll of Jamestown, Delma Kaltenbaugh and husband Thomas of Andover, Ohio, and Karen Wagner and husband Ronald of Andover; a brother, Harry Kratochvil and wife Cheryl of Meadville; four grandchildren, Jodee Baker, Samantha Clevenger, Stephanie Clevenger and Tabatha Clevenger, all of Clarks Mills; a great-grandson, Hunter Baker of Clarks Mills; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and a brother, Franklin Oberle.

Friends may call at Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home Ltd., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to share memories and condolences with the family online at rlsfh.com.

The funeral will be Tuesday at noon at the funeral home, with Pastor Ken Ornorff of New Hope Community Church, Meadville, officiating.

The committal service and interment will follow in Geneva Memorial Cemetery.

The family has suggested that memorial tributes may be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 4002018, Des Moines, Iowa 50340-2018.
